A mountain bike skills session, designed for children aged 8-13 years old, 9-10am, meeting at the entrance to Worlebury Woods (BS22 9SG)
The session is graded ‘blue’ which means it is suitable for riders that have had previous off road riding experience. During the 1 hour session, we will tackle basic off road terrain with some single track trail, taking time to look at how to tackle and ride across roots that may cross the trail.
To take part in the session, it is essential that each rider has a serviceable mountain bike with knobbly tyres and two working brakes.
Riders must have a fitted helmet, gloves, appropriate clothing for the weather conditions on the day, and a drink. We will never be more than a 20 minute walk from my van, so if your child does not have a bottle holder on their bike, we can keep the drinks there and return for a short break half way through.
If you have any concerns that an illness or ailment may affect your child’s involvement in the Mountain Bike session, please consult a doctor or health care professional before booking them in, and ensure that you speak to me via email or Facebook message prior to the session.
The session will start at 9am, so please arrive 15 minutes early. You will need to leave me a contact telephone number in case of any emergency. Pick up will be at 10am from the same place.
Please be aware that Mountain Biking is a potentially hazardous activity carrying significant risk. All trails have been risk assessed, a dynamic risk assessment will be conducted on the morning of the session and I shall do my utmost to ensure that the session is conducted in the safest possible way.
